Let’s find out more about Octordle and determine if this challenge is as difficult as it appears.

What is Octordle?

Octordle, or should we say Wordle  8 is exactly what players need who have already mastered Dordle and Quordle, not to mention the original single grid Wordle.

Created by Kenneth Crawford,  Octordle This is a significantly more challenging variation of Wordle. In each game, you are required to guess eight different five-letter words within a maximum of 13 attempts. Each word has its own dedicated grid, and these grids operate independently from one another.

Essentially, Octordle can be seen as a multitasking variant of Wordle, featuring 8 grids working simultaneously. The rules for each grid—and thus each word—are identical to those of Wordle, which include the same color-coding scheme and the use of 5-letter words from the English dictionary.

Nevertheless, the addition of the eight grids greatly increases the overall challenge, making the experience both potentially frustrating and rewarding.

Tricks & Tips for Octordle

#1. Plan your starting words

This means using five-letter words packed with vowels and avoiding words with fewer vowels and letters similar to your previous guesses—at least for the first few attempts as you work to figure out the letter placements in the word(s).

Here are some great words that contain 3-4 vowels: ADIEU, ABOUT, EQUAL, OUIJA, AUDIO, LOUIE.

However, keep in mind that you need to guess eight words simultaneously here. So, it’s always beneficial to have an alternate strategy ready to go.

This alternative method involves starting with 5-letter words that have all unique letters. Furthermore, these words should be composed of the letters that are statistically the most frequent in 5-letter words. The most commonly occurring letters in such words are S, E, A, O, I, T, N, and U.

Here are a few instances of words composed of these letters: ROATE, RAISE, and ULTRA.
